Valley Grown Produce was created by the Van Groningen family to connect consumers directly with the family farm.  

Situated in the middle of California, is a fertile, 400 mile long valley, with some of the most ideal farming conditions in the world. Of the thousands of farms that call the San Joaquin Valley home, almost 93% are family owned. It’s our family’s goal to make this valley famous and in the process, share our history and harvest with your family.

For generations families have immigrated to this part of California to try their hand in food production, the Adrian and Helena Van Groningen family were one of these.  With relatives already rooted here, Adrian left the Netherlands in 1948 with his wife and 3 young boys.  Over the next few years, he planted his roots in a small town named Visalia.  Over the next 70 plus years, our family established itself in the dairy industry and has now diversified into nut and fruit production.   

Today this legacy continues with us, Dave and Lisa Van Groningen, the 3rd generation. Our goal is simple: to continue building on our storied past while looking to the future in sharing and educating those who want to know where their food comes from.  

Our desire is to continue this legacy for our family farm and other families just like ours, so the next generation can continue on the path of providing sustainable, safe food for the world to enjoy. 

Like many farms, over the generations our business model has been to sell our harvest to wholesalers, but in recent years we have seen the value and importance for the family farm to offer some of these products directly to you. 

By doing this, we can deliver a fresher product and you can be assured that quality and food safety is the upmost importance.  We strive to share how these crops are grown and harvested with every product offered to you.  On our farm, we grow walnuts, almonds, prunes and look to expand in the future. We live, grow and cultivate community in the middle of this beautiful valley.
